Key Benefits
- Protects against water
- Blocks damp
- Controls efflorescence
- For masonry walls
Description
A cement-infused, water-based bitumen emulsion formulated for damp control and resistance to efflorescence on cementitious walls.
Recommended Uses
Rising and lateral damp treatment on internal and exterior masonry walls, retaining walls and cementitious substrates.
Surface Preparation
Remove loose paint, plaster, dust and visible efflorescence. Wash salt deposits with a suitable mild acid cleaner, rinse thoroughly and allow the surface to dry.
Mixing
Add 200 g clean cement to 1 L Damp Stop (20%). Add gradually and mix thoroughly to a smooth, brushable consistency. Do not exceed 20% cement.
Verified Performance
Laboratory trials confirmed water-holding performance of the cement-infused formulation. The best efflorescence resistance was achieved with 20% cement after prolonged exposure to a 30% salt solution.
Application
Apply liberally over the affected area, extending at least 500 mm beyond visible damp. Apply 2 coats. Allow approximately 4 hours between coats and 48 hours before overcoating with a suitable acrylic emulsion.
