Key Benefits
- Superior bond strength
- Strong adhesion
- Water and damp resistant
- Improved toughness
- Flexible mortar
- Frost resistant
- Reduces efflorescence
Description
A rubber latex designed for cement compositions and use as a plaster key. Improves adhesion to substrates, including dense impervious concrete, while increasing toughness, flexibility and resistance to water, water vapour, frost and certain chemicals.
Recommended Uses
- Cement mortars, concrete, plaster and render
- Interior and exterior walls
- Basements
- Flat roofs and balconies
- Floors, stairs, tunnels and canals
- Cement-based adhesives and screeds for bathrooms and showers
- Treatment of efflorescence, rising damp and damp walls
Dosage
Normally use 9–18 litres per 50 kg cement. Use the higher dosage for thin screeds or where maximum performance is required. Substitute part of the mixing water with Rubber Latex.
Primer / Plaster Key Mix
Mix 1 part Rubber Latex with 1 part cement powder by volume. Work thoroughly into the prepared substrate. Allow 4 hours curing, then apply a second coat perpendicular to the first.
Surface Preparation
Remove loose and flaking material. Sand where required. Surface must be clean, sound and free of dust, grease, oil and contamination.
Application
Apply by scraper, trowel, brush or suitable method for the selected cement composition. Clean equipment with water before the product dries.
Safety Precautions
Water-based and non-flammable in wet form. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid eye and prolonged skin contact. Wear gloves, overalls and safety glasses. Provide ventilation when working in enclosed areas.
First Aid
- Eyes: Flush with plenty of clean water.
- Skin: Wash with soap and water.
- Ingestion: Drink water, do not induce vomiting and seek medical advice. Obtain medical attention if irritation persists.
